TUCSON -- Since March, it has been the USHA's goal to provide coaches, players, and families a decision on postponing or canceling events at least 60 days in advance in response to the pandemic. Today, with heavy hearts, the USHA Board of Directors has voted unanimously to cancel this year's USHA National Junior 4-Wall Championships. While we held out some hope of hosting here in Tucson this December, it is unlikely that junior players have had significant access to facilities to practice or play, plus we were unable to ensure we could offer the best playing experience for our juniors.
"While this isn't the outcome we had hoped, we certainly want to prioritize the health and safety of our junior players and their families," said Executive Director Matt Krueger. "Although we cannot control outside factors that affect our planning, we can prepare for when we're able to hold an event where players and people feel safe enough to participate. When that time comes, we will be ready."
